It’s November again, so my posting will be spares. I know I just started this blog, but I’ve now embarked on my yearly insane quest to write the next great American novel. Or at least write a lot.
National Novel Writing Month is almost 10 years old, so you may have heard of it before. The basic gist of it is that starting November 1st, you make a promise to write 50,000 words in 30 days, before midnight on November 30th.
This will be my fifth year participating, and I’ve “won” twice. So I just need to keep going at a steady pace and I’ll make it again. So far I’m still on track, and I’ve learned that the first few days of the month can really set the ton for the rest of it.
I’m actually stretching myself only slightly more thin, because I have a trip coming up so five days worth of writing are knocked out. I want to be done before the 25th because I don’t want to write while I’m on vacation. So 2,000 words a day, here I come!
It’s not too late to sign up, plenty of people succeed even when they start late. So go, get started, get writing!
